So you aren’t an expert and just want to learn about tea in general? This trip is designed for you.
Sri Lanka is the land of that “brisk” tea taste that Sir Lipton so enthusiastically promoted. But Sir Lipton has not told you the whole story!
We will get over our jet-lag on the southwest beaches, spending time with tea experts learning about the teas we will explore the rest of our trip. We will visit all three growing regions (low, middle and high) on this geographically diverse island.
Did you ever wonder about how the tea gets into all those teabags? We’ll show you. From the picking of the leaves on a tea estate to the processing of the leaves and the production of thousands of teabags per minute at the packing factory, you will see the entire story.
You’ll smell the amazing aromas and then taste truly fresh teas. Once we finish our tea excursions you’ll be able to explore Sri Lanka’s diverse attractions with the aid of our own travel specialist. Bottle feed an orphaned baby elephant or visit ancient Dravidian sites.
